Newfold Globetrotters

Newfold Globetrotters is a Geography Club which has been provided  for children in Years 3 and 4 this year at lunch time.

 

Here at Newfold Globetrotters we have had a busy time.  Initially, we started to learn more about England.  Using the Internet we found out about population, capital city, famous landmarks, famous people and longest river.  Our favourite session was trying traditional food from England, the Eccles cakes were the most popular!

Then we decided to go further afield and explore a country of our own choice.  We used iPads to research and atlases.  We enjoyed choosing native animals or famous  landmarks and creating them into a jigsaw.  We also  explored the many wonderful flags from around the world, choosing our favourite to colour in.  Recently we looked at our own Global World and thought about our connections with different countries around the World through friends, relatives, where our favourite foods come from and many more....
