Sustainability in Action!
Reception have been extra busy creating delicious treats using fresh produce picked from our very own allotment. Delicious, nutritious and sustainable! Well done and thank you to our green fingered gardening friends for tending to all the yummy fruit and vegetables.
Iterative Design
At Newfold, we are passionate about promoting the importance of the iterative design process. Design Technology is a journey - some of our ideas will work, whilst others may be less successful. We see the ideas that don't necessarily have the outcomes we want as key learning opportunities for children to develop their skills and understanding of how engineers in the world work. Sir James Dyson famously made 5,127 prototypes of his Dyson vacuum cleaner before achieving the outcomes he wanted! We aim to provide children with the key skills necessary to enable them to achieve success, whilst nurturing their ability to make their own design decisions, test their products and adapt their ideas as they work.
Extra Curricular Opportunities
Cookery club - children across Key Stage 1 and 2 have loved creating their own treats during Cookery Club. Keep your eyes peeled for pictures of us in action!
